The thriving town of Huntsville in the recreational tourism region of Muskoka, which is easy to reach by road or by train.
Directions by road . . .
From Toronto: Hwy. 400 north to Hwy. 11 north, and turn east onto Hwy. 60, by-passing Huntsville and continuing past Grandview, Deerhurst and Hidden Valley. 10 km past Huntsville, turn left/northeast on Limberlost Road (Muskoka Road 8), and after driving 9 km, turn right/southeast on South Limberlost Road. After 3 km the Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve gates will welcome you at the end of the road.
From Ottawa: Hwy. 17 west to Hwy. 60 west; travel through Algonquin Park and turn right after Dwight onto Limberlost Road (Muskoka Road 8). After driving 9 km, turn right/southeast on South Limberlost Road. After 3 km the Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve gates will welcome you at the end of the road.
Directions by Train/Bus from Toronto . . .
The Ontario Northlander departs from Union Station in Toronto at approximately 8:40 a.m., Sunday to Friday. Less than three hours later the train arrives at the Huntsville Station.
The same train returns through Huntsville at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday.There are no trail departures to either to or from Huntsville on Saturdays.
